Warmest Holiday Greetings!

The Strait Area Filipino Society (SAFS) extends our warmest MERRY CHRISTMAS wishes to ALL! Christmas is a season filled with joy, love, and unity. It's a time to reflect on the past year while looking ahead with hope and positivity in the coming year. We are thrilled to share a heartfelt Christmas message through a creatively crafted SAFS station ID video (derived from ABS-CBN TV Channel in the Philippines). This project was conceptualized and filmed by our Head of Events, Glench Garcia Villas using just her cellphone, and skillfully edited by Aby Maqui. This video beautifully captures the vibrant spirit of our SAFS community and the richness of Filipino culture. It features a series of touching scenes that show families coming together, highlighting traditional Filipino Christmas symbols, such as the parol (Christmas star/lantern) and the festive Christmas spirit, which are prominently displayed throughout the video. During this season, we encourage everyone to connect with one another through kindness and compassion. Let us value the connections that unite us and create cherished memories with our loved ones. May this Christmas bring peace and joy to everyone.  From the Strait Area Filipino Society (SAFS), we wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous New Year 2025! Merry Christmas and Maligayang Pasko (in Tagalog)! Acknowledging the Glory of God! He is the true reason for this season!

"Star Ng Pasko" by ABS-CBN Music All Star is a song that beautifully captures the essence of Christmas and the symbolism of light during this joyous season. The lyrics express a sincere appreciation for the brightness and hope that Christmas brings, shining brightly even amidst the darkest moments. The verses emphasize the contrast between darkness and the shimmering stars, reinforcing the notion that no matter how heavy the clouds may be, a light always exists behind them. This light symbolizes the collective strength within each person, representing the kindness and warmth present in every heart. Through love, unity, and mutual support, all wounds can be healed.

The chorus emphasizes that the light illuminating Christmas originates from a single source, personified as "ikaw," which means "you" in Filipino. This highlights that the true spirit of Christmas is not rooted in material things, but in the love and connections we nurture and continously nurture with one another.

The second verse highlights the significance of unity and reaching out during difficult times. By holding hands and standing together, they convey their belief that, despite life's overwhelming challenges, they can overcome them.

The bridge brings forth a message of hope, asserting that hope will shine brightly for everyone, thanks to the presence of a significant figure referred to as "Bro," short for brother. This represent JESUS, our divine savior who lives among us, in our hearts.

In conclusion, "Star Ng Pasko" expresses gratitude for light and love that “Bro” offers, emphasizing the importance of unity, compassion, and the joy derived from celebrating this special time together. It serves as a reminder to cherish the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our savior Jesus Christ and the bonds we share with each other.
