THANK YOU SUPERSTORE PORT HAWKESBURY!

(FEB. 24 TO MAY 25, 2024)

Dear SAFS Family,

We have recently heard a not so good news regarding the recent Shutdown of our Parish Church in Port Hawkesbury. 2 Consecutive Sunday Masses have been cancelled because of electrical circuit problem due to small fire. We all know that the budget of our churches does rely only from the tithes of their parishioners and those people who have generous hearts for donations to continue doing the most important operations in humanity, “Spreading the Gospels.”

In relation to this, we have considered the very noble and smart suggestion of one of our SAFS members, Lhaileen A. Arseneau, not so long ago to come up with an idea to help raise funds by volunteering to bag some groceries in exchange of gratuity of any amounts from Superstore clients in order to raise funds to be donated to St. Joseph Parish Church. Our President, Estrella Melong, has communicated with the management of Superstore to make this happen. We are aware that most of us are not Catholics or even believers but we do respect each other’s stand point when it comes to our own faith.

We humbly call on our SAFS members, who would be willing to donate their precious time and energy to support St. Joseph Parish Church Port Hawkesbury. We thank you in advance for your willingness to donate your time and service to raise funds for our small Parish. Our efforts not only do support our organization, but it also supports our community.

We sincerely look forward to your continued involvement to our small community of Port Hawkesbury. Your support of our work means so much! We hope to see you at more volunteer events in the future! For those who would be willing to volunteer, kindly send a direct message to our President or Me. We wish to receive positive responses until this coming Thursday, for the first schedule on Feb.24 Saturday. Again, thank you and may our merciful God be the one to reciprocate your good deeds.

TOWN OF PORT HAWKESBURY

seniors Christmas luncheon 2018

SAFS volunteered at the Civic Center for Seniors Christmas Luncheon 2018! The atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy as volunteers and seniors alike gathered to celebrate the festive season. Tables were adorned with colorful decorations, and the scent of a delicious holiday feast wafted through the air. Laughter and cheerful conversations filled the room, creating a sense of community and belonging.

The SAFS volunteers, with their bright smiles and generous spirits, ensured that every guest felt special and cared for. They served meals, assisted with activities, and even performed holiday dance, adding to the merriment of the occasion. For many of the seniors, this luncheon was a highlight of their holiday season, a time to connect with others and create lasting memories.

One of the most touching moments was when a group of volunteers surprised the seniors with personalized gift bags, each thoughtfully prepared to bring a bit of holiday cheer. The joy and gratitude on the seniors' faces were priceless, a testament to the kindness and effort put in by the Town of Port Hawkesbury and different community volunteers and all who contributed to making the event a resounding success.

It was a day that truly embodied the spirit of giving and the importance of community, reminding everyone of the simple yet profound impact of coming together to celebrate and support one another.
